History Heroes games at the 2014 Chalke Valley Festival
2nd July 2014

We had a great time at the 2014 Chalke Valley Festival, introducing the festival goers to History Heroes’ four new games: Explorers, Scientists, Sports Heroes and World War I. We managed to hear a couple of the speakers: we listened to Robert Harris talking about the writing of his cracking new book, An Officer and a Spy. The story itself is a gripping, true-life thriller and Harris discussed some interesting modern day parallels to it, touching upon the need, then and now, for press freedom and transparency in authority.
We also enjoyed John Sessions’ saucy and salacious anecdotes about his life and career in the movies – cracking, indiscreet stories about Hollywood and sub-Hollywood stars.
We had a great reception to our games and ended on two highs: Michael Morpugo went home with History Heroes’ WWI game and Richard Dawkins was chuffed when he received his pack of History Heroes’ Scientists. We had to give him a copy of the game – especially as he is one of the Scientist heroes in it!
